PD LogoNWOCA Instructional services can provide professional development to non-member and detached districts at a very competitive rate.
Schools can choose from a variety of sessions from our course catalog. These can be further customized to meet the needs of your district.

Google LogoMany schools are making the jump to Google for Education. NWOCA now offers a soup to nuts Google integration service. We will setup your domain with a Google for Business education upgrade. Optional steps include Active Directory integration, migration of email accounts from Exchange and mobile device management.

Custom website design, webhosting and ongoing support are all services that may be provided to schools and other groups who need a functional yet easy to use web solution. Several content management systems are being used including Drupal, WordPress and Joomla. We recommend the Exponent Content Management system for its ease of use, security features and ease of deployment.

Member Instructional Services

The following services are provided by Instructional Services to member districts at no additional cost.

NWOCA Instructional Services can provide 4 or more trainers to districts holding in-service days, early release and late start professional development opportunities . There is no cost to member districts. Let us help you plan and deliver effective professional development.
Do your staff need graduate credits? We can tailor our programs with graduate credit options if needed.

NWOCA offers classes in our two training locations each spring, summer and fall.  Sessions are offered on a range of topics. A full listing is available on the NWOCA Training page where you can register for classes.

School district personnel including teachers, secretaries and other support staff as well as spouses and famiiy can attend on site NWOCA training sessions at no cost. Members of the community may also be invited to attend.

The Resource visit program is designed to meet the needs of our schools for one-on-one training for teachers, support staff and administrators. This training is FREE for our member districts (public school districts only).

Typically, a day is scheduled for an Educational Technologist to come to your school and participants sign up online for time slots divided in half hour increments.

Example topics covered during these visits could include:

  • How to better use your gMail
  • New ideas for using Google Classroom
  • Creating a teacher website.

Google Integration services are available to our member districts at no additional cost.

NWOCA Library Services supports library staff and educators in the use of INFOhio information resources that include:

  • Core Collection of electronic resources from INFOhio provided by the State of Ohio to meet the learning needs of students and promote professional development of K12 educators.
  • Professional Development that includes tools and technologies to help develop 21st century information literacy skills.
  • State-wide library automation system with cataloging support and database management.
  • Media and Curriculum Resource Catalogs to assist in collection and curriculum development.


NWOCA supports and distributes the latest updates of INFOhio resources to all member school districts. All product updates are provided to NWOCA membership which include training and presentations upon request. INFOhio, the Information Network for Ohio Schools, is a state-wide cooperative project used to create a network linking Ohio students, teachers, and parents to electronic resources. These resources are to be used to support teaching and learning by providing equitable access to all Ohio K12 school districts. NWOCA supports and facilitates all INFOhio programs for their member districts.

Library automation services at NWOCA began in 1997 with 2 building libraries available. To date, November 2010, NWOCA has 28 northwest Ohio school districts, which include 85 building libraries, currently participating in the INFOhio library automation system. This services has provided essential resources to 36,857 students in our local automated libraries.
