The Instructor station is
in the front of the room and contains a desk, a stand for a computer monitor, jacks
for laptop computers and a VCR camera, a laser disk player, a video tape player,
a document camera, and a touch pad controller.
The touch pad gives the instructor
remote control over all three cameras (instructor, student, and document) and the
AV equipment housed underneath the instructor station. The cameras have the capability
of following the pigment of the instructor's skin. Wherever the instructor moves
in the room, the camera will follow.
In the back of the room are
two monitors for the instructor's use. One monitor shows the studio and the other
shows the remote site. The studio will have the capability of interacting with three
other sites by using the State video switch in Columbus. Also, a video bridge has
been purchased and will be installed by the end of January, 1998.
