Blood Mobile
Hosted by Holgate Local Schools
Each year students of the Family and Consumer Science classes are involved in the annual Community/School Blood Mobile Drive. Students have received training at Bowling Green State University the past two years. Training sessions include recruiting donors, publicity, canteen requirements as well as helpful hints for a successful blood drive.
Students are then divided into the following committees: donors, canteen, and publicity. These committees spend approximately thirty days prior to the date of the Mobile. Students then work the entire Mobile as volunteers.
Community service hours are awarded to the Mobile committees as well as students who become blood donors. Mrs. Kohl and the Family and Consumer Science classes have been involved with the Red Cross Blood Drives at Holgate for the past ten years.
