Holgate High
School

Holgate High School has several organizations and clubs
for students and parents. They are Student Council, FFA, FHA,
National Honor Society, Yearbook Staff, and Student Government. There
are also parent and teacher run organizations such as the Athletic
Boosters, and Band Boosters. Holgate is a member of the Ohio High
School Athletic Association and the Green Meadows Conference, an
athletic league of eight area schools. Holgate has a very successful
sports program. Boys' sports include Varsity Football, JV Football,
Varsity Cross Country, JV Cross country, Golf (Co-ed), Varsity
Basketball, JV basketball, Freshmen Basketball, Baseball, and Track.
Girls' sports include Varsity Volleyball, JV Volleyball, Varsity
Cross Country, JV Cross Country, Golf (Co-ed), Varsity Basketball JV
Basketball . Holgate has a strong musical program headed by Doug
Perry. Holgate is a member of the Ohio Music Educators Association.
There are three bands: marching, concert, and pep. The marching band
has qualified for State competition several times. The band takes a
trip every other year and has gone to Toronto, Chicago, Nashville,
Florida and Washington D.C. in the past Holgate also has a choir.
They practice five times a week and perform four concerts a year and
graduation.
