Services Offered to the Students

  • SCHEDULES: Schedules will be distributed to students during homeroom period on the first day of school. These should be carried with you each day for a couple of weeks. Schedule changes are strongly discouraged.

  • TIME SCHEDULE: Students are not to arrive at school prior to 7:50 a.m. A bell will ring at 8:12 a.m. as a warning bell for students to go to class. School will begin at 8:17 a.m. School will be dismissed at 3:12 p.m.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Informative announcements will be made at the beginning of the first period. Students have a responsibility to each other to remain quiet during announcements. All announcements should be signed by a teacher and should be submitted to the office no later than 3:30 p.m. of the day preceding the morning announcements.

CHANNEL ONE:

All Tinora Junior High Students will have the opportunity to watch a twelve-minute news presentation (Channel One) every day. Channel One News is designed for Junior High Students and is intended to make students more aware of global news and issues. All students are to remain quiet and attentive while viewing Channel One.

VENDING MACHINE:

A vending machine is located in the hallway downstairs. Pens, pencils, and paper should be purchased before school, at noon, or after school. Students will not be dismissed from class to purchase items.

CAFETERIA:

All students are to go to the cafeteria at the beginning of the sixth period. All eighth grade students will be seated and eat at the east side of the cafeteria with all seventh grade students being located on the west side of the cafeteria. All food must be consumed in the cafeteria. Students are not permitted to have food from outside brought in to them. Students arriving at school around lunch time (morning absence, appointments, etc.) are to consume outside purchased food before coming to school and not bring food in with them. Having visitors during lunch time is not permitted.

Students will not be permitted to charge their lunch. Meal tickets are available and can be purchased from the cafeteria manager in the morning. Students are responsible for keeping the table and chairs clean and orderly and to return tray and dishes to the dish washing area.
