NWOCA proudly hosted its Spring 2026 Library User Group meeting, bringing together 13 passionate librarians from 9 school districts for a day of collaboration, creativity, and practical learning.
The day began with a fun and engaging “Blind Date with a Book” activity, giving participants the chance to experience the excitement—and sometimes uncertainty—that students feel when choosing a new read. This lighthearted icebreaker sparked meaningful conversation about how libraries can make book selection more inviting and accessible for all learners.

Next, attendees explored the power of MagicSchool, led by guest presenter Karisa Schwanekamp, Solutions Architect. Librarians discovered innovative ways to leverage AI tools to support instruction, save time, and enhance student engagement—leaving with ideas they could immediately bring back to their schools.

Participants also received the latest INFOhio News & Updates, ensuring they are equipped with current resources, tools, and opportunities to better serve their students and staff.
As the school year winds down, sessions on Library Year-End Tasks and Database Cleanup provided timely, hands-on guidance to help librarians wrap up the year efficiently and set themselves up for success in the fall.
Events like the NWOCA Library User Group meeting highlight the meaningful work happening in our school libraries every day. By coming together to share ideas, learn new tools, and support one another, our librarians continue to make a lasting impact on student learning across our member districts.

We are grateful to all who attended and contributed to such a dynamic and productive day—and we look forward to continuing this important work together.
